Sony Xperia C is in
dark for a lot of time now and Sony continues to ignore the device. Sony Xperia
C is only mediate device in the Xperia line up and after Android version 4.2.2 there
has been no great update for the device.
The problem with the
Mediatek devices is that they don’t release the source code of the processor
and which makes difficult for the company to upgrade and customize the OS and
also blocking the users for using a custom ROM on the device. The bootloader in
Xperia C is locked and it’s not easy to break in on the device.
The performance of the
Mediatek devices area quite average and they block the future updates which is
the biggest disadvantage when compared to Qualcomm. The only advantage of the
chipset is they come at low price.
If Sony decides to go
ahead with abandoning Sony Xperia C that that might just be a cheap sell for
the company.
