Full Review: Micromax Canvas 2 Colours A120

Micromax canvas 2 Colors was launched recently and as the name suggests the device looks stunning and is available for under Rs.10000.

Quick Specifications:
·        CPU : 1.3Ghz MT6852 quad core processor
·        Camera: 8 MP primary camera , 2 MP secondary camera
·        OS: Jelly Bean v4.2
·        5-inch Touchscreen
·        Dual Sim (GSM+GSM)
·        1 GB RAM
The device comes with two different coloured back panels which gives it a fresh look and it’s like owning two different devices.

Display:
The screen is 5 inches IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Viewing angles are quite decent and touch is very responsive and smooth. The device has good colour reproduction. When the device is switched on for the first time then the stock wallpaper may look a bit of odd but there are other wallpapers to match the back panel.
Memory, Storage and OS:

The device is powered by 1 GB RAM and 4GB internal storage with expandable upto 32GB. You can install or move the apps directly to the external storage since it is supported by OTG.The device runs on 4.2 Jelly Bean but recently Micromax has announced that the device will get KitKat update guaranteed

Performance:
The device is powered by 1.3 GHz MT6852 quad core processor coupled with Mali 400 MP2 GPU. The device doesn’t show any sign of lag and runs every operation very smoothly.

Gaming:
Most of the HD games like asphalt 8 and modern combat 4 was directly installed on SD and ran smoothly with decent graphics and lag free performance.

Camera:
The primary camera is 8 MP with auto focus and a decent 2 MP camera in the front. The camera quality of the device is surprisingly great and also can record full HD videos @ 1080p. It can also play full HD videos.

Battery:
The device is powered by 2000mAh battery which is not good and drains out very quickly. Only with the moderate use of the handset the battery will last for 4-5 hours. Battery performance is just satisfactory.

Final Verdict:
The Micromax Canvas 2 Colours A120 is a colourful device with good specifications. It has sufficient RAM to run all the high end games and the primary camera takes great pictures which can also do full HD recording. The screen on the device is also good with 720p resolution and the best part is device will soon be getting kitkat update .Only drawback of the device is its poor battery performance.
Overall the device is good deal considering the price bracket and the premium feature of the device is the look.
